எங்கள் தாய் - Our mother!

தொன்று நிகழ்ந்த தனைத்தும் உணர்ந்திடு
சூல்கலை வாணர்களும் – இவள்
என்று பிறந்தவள் என்றுண ராத
இயல்பி னளாம் எங்கள் தாய்

This is a poem by Bharathiyar. This means that even people who know history cannot realise how old our mother (the language of Thamizh) is. That says 'our language is so ancient that no one can say how early it existed'.
